    Capitol sin

Hey, this is the first poem i have ever shared with anyone, so please be nice!

That dreaded day, my country came
Just another pawn, for their game.
Away I went, my life i employ
    They'll make a soldier, from a boy.

I get my boots, my uniform, im told the battle plan
They give me the gun, that will make me a man.
I'm rushed to the front, we will win in a day
Shock is all I feel, so much death and decay.

I see my target, take my shot, I kill for Uncle Sam
Just like that, I'm banned from heaven, i could hear the gates slam.
Who am i, to take a life, put him to the firing squad
I'm now a villian, through the eyes of my god.

Behind, infront, no escape I see
That cloaked figure of death is stalking me.
I try to run, I try to flee, but my fate is looking dire
Impending doom I feel, until Im hit by machine gun fire.

I want to stop this happening, I wish I knew how
But nothing is real but pain now.
The warmth of friends, family, now all seems surreal
The cold caress of death is all i feel.

Fire and brimstone, it's such a horrible smell
For fighting this war, I was condemned to hell.
My country brought me home in early December
They buried me deep, and no one can remember.

    Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naive or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.

Birds make great sky circles of their freedom
    How do they do it?
    They fall

And in falling, they’re given wings

If that's the first poem you've ever shared with anyone it was worth the wait. The last two lines were chilling...loved it. You should keep writing; you're talented. I'd like to read more.
