During the downtime, I've posted a new series of mine on the Erotic Prose forum, but it seems like the Sexual Fantasy forum is getting more erotic fiction posts. Is there a 'proper' section of the forum to post the material that would normally be uploaded to the site proper?

If I remember correctly, the programming used to publish the stories is a real PITA to use, and that is why only one person was assigned the task, I also know there was some talk about upgrading it, not sure if that ever happened.

Yeah, the wonky setup for submitting stories and updates is probably a good indicator of how messed up the site management functions must be.

Razor, I am sorry that you feel that way. I know very little of the management functions beyond forums, but do know that Rabbit works exceptionally hard for the benefit of all members. I would be the first to agree that what is happening, or rather not happening, at the moment is unfortunate.

Rabbit gives many hours of his time, at no charge to anyone, to keep this site running as smoothly as he does. Yes, when everything is up and running again as it should be, it will be time for a debriefing and looking at the lessons which we have learnt, but one of those lessons will be a true appreciation of the value of everything he does.

What an excellent idea Razor - and thank you.

We had realised that there was a duplication of forums here, and had decided to merge them into one. The delay in it happening was simply over the title of the new forum - 'erotic prose' was the logical one but 'sexual fantasy' was a loved historical title.

However....I have now moved threads which were posted to erotic prose before the downtime into sexual fantasy, and taking your excellent idea, I have dedicted 'erotic prose' to stories which will later appear in the main story section.

Once again, thank you for this practical and helpful suggestion.

Hear, hear. Good to see it realized because people have been known to drop off this forum for a while for reasons of personal or family trouble. This being the wonderful place that it is, they most often return.
Here's to hoping Rabbit's time-out is just due to a high amount of paid work.

I think babygirl said it the best. When it comes right down to it, there a million different things that are more important then updating stories on a website. Yes Rabbit is taken some time off, but honestly its really none of our business as to why. If he wanted us to know, im sure he would have posted it. Just all of you just be patient, and maybe have a thought or two to hope and/or pray that he is ok, and this leave is not because of anything tragic that has happened in his life.

i agree, it is very difficult to complain when the service you are getting ,the stories are free to read
In the real world, things do suddenly happen, nobody plans for a personal emergency or personal issues to arise, when they do they need to be able to address family issues immediately or personal issues the same way, most people I know say family comes first

Dude...relax, no one is asking you to come onto this site, if you have so much of a problem, why don't you quit whining and just leave.

A lot of us want the updates to come out now, but most of us are waiting patiently, and a couple have even come up with temporary solutions on posting their stories on these boards.

I am sorry in advance if this constitutes as flaming, if so, kindly delete this post or PM me and I'll edit it. I just find it annoying that some people completely ignore calls for patience repeatedly.

Yes! For all those waiting, use the Erotic Prose forum as a temporary shelter for submitted stories. Every bit as good, if you want other people to start reading your material.

GET OVER IT PEOPLE. He does a Heck of a Job and I for one think this is one of the BEST sites on the web. I don't get Spam or other BS outta it. IT'S FREE and we don't even have to buy one of those Stupid Things to prove that we are Adults. Although I am starting to doubt that we all are.

This is my first post ever, and I'm a bit nervous, so bear with me. I'm a lurker, but I've been following this update thread, and was finally inspired to comment.

Yes, it does suck that we haven't had any updates for such a long time. But I know better than anyone that Real Life can cause huge problems with your Internet Life.

I appreciate the amazing job the mods and admins do here. This is the best story site I have ever encountered. And the no pop-ups thing is wonderful, and very rare for sites like this.

Back to lurking now, I just wanted to say thank you(finally!) and to ask everyone for their patience in the update situation.

I don't keep up with stories in the way most other seem to do. I wander off to it occasionally to read a bit, but I know I am too impatient to wait for the next chapter of the story if it hasn't been completed.

To give an understanding of this: It's the uncertainty that makes me too impatient. I can wait for two weeks, a month, even half a year to get the next chapter, if I know it's going to happen within that timeframe. If I have been assured that there are a set release date for the next chapter. (This is for anything and everything that has a sequel)

So, for me, the stories not updating, isn't the end of the world. What IS "the end of the world" for me though, is that though Rabbit1 hasn't interacted with me on discussions here on the forum, which is what I usually do here, he has always made his presence known, and we all should be grateful for all the time and effort the great furball is dedicating to this site on an (practically) every-day basis.

I felt sadness in my heart when I discovered he had been gone for so long, because I didn't know the cause of his absence. Well, I still don't but....
Sadness because he is such a mighty presence over this site, and it would be a shame if this great persona would be gone.

I really can't describe my emotions on the matter correctly. I can only say that when I learned of his absence, I hoped it to be pleasant matters of R/L, and not accidents or other unhappy things.

cariad has to some extent calmed that feeling with a previous post, but I am waiting anxiously to see the Rabbit back.

You know, it somehow feels "empty in the house" without him....

To echo the others, please please please post your works in the Erotic Prose section, or in Story Feedback if you'd like some editing assistance.

If you'd like new material to read, the Feedback section is a great place to start: there are a lot of works there that could still use help, or speak up and ask if anyone wants some assistance. You'll get the first chance to read new stuff and happier, more prolific authors as a bonus!

Finally, remember that the (massive) archives of the story board are all still fully accessible; and some reviews of old stories are just the sort of thing to get authors writing again (for those who aren't aware, each time a review is written an email is sent to the author -- this works wonderfully to motivate us to pick up something we forgot about months ago).

As for some of the suggestions, you all bring up some really valid points. Ideally, we'd all love to recreate our code with the latest and greatest; but realistically, doing so threatens the free access we all treasure. And yes, there are benefits to be had from sharing out responsibility for posting and such, but there are also logical reasons not to give out that extreme level of access to too many -- particularly with the subjects we deal with here. Look back in the news about other sites who've been shut down just for posting the wrong fictional content (which is, by the by, a solid argument against automatic updates). It speaks volumes about the diligence of Rabbit and Tiger that we've had no such problems from our huge number of stories, and yet remain amazingly uncensored in our content.

So while we all look forward to seeing new updates, lets set aside the doom and gloom. There's still plenty here to enjoy and ways to contribute until our valiant leader returns.

I've been following this thread for a while but so far I've resisted posting in it. The mods and admins seem to becoming in for an (in my opinion) unjustified amount of flak lately. So I thought it was time to add my voice to the ones saying thank you for the time and effort the staff give voluntarily to keep this place going. Just to let you know that we do appreciate the work you do and you all have as much right to time off as the next person.

When someone presents you with the moon on a stick for free it might be considered ungrateful to complain about the colour of the stick

We are not taking the hiatus in story publication lightly. I appreciate that the uncertainty of when they will next be published does not help, but unfortuantely I cannot tell you something I do not know.

Rabbit1 is away for longer than we expected him to be, and obviously we too hope that all is well. We eagerly await the return of not only the man who publishes the stories, but also a friend.

I know the readership is more limited, but I would encourage anyone who wishes to do so, to follow Razor's lead and post in the erotic prose section whilst we are all waiting for normal service to be ressumed.

I don't understand what the uproar is all about. Have you seen how many stories are in the archives? There's enough to keep you entertained there for months at a time, perhaps more! a couple of weeks without an update shouldn't have anyone ranting. Although I guess I can understand why some people might be disappointed if they've been following a recent story and are looking forward to the update - but just think, after such a wait, you'll enjoy it all the more when it's up

I, also, am concerned about rabitt and miss the updates. I was a Mod/Admin once (and because of people that cant play nice and expect more than a person can do) I will never(?) do it again.
I am grateful every time an update is made, whether I like the new stories or not. Just now I found a story to my liking that I missed in the last update. I never would have seen it if the new update had been posted.
Mods/Admins, thank you for all that you do. I personally know that it is a very difficult job, and not everyone will be happy. But I appreciate you!

Just a suggestion, could the stories posted on the forum please use the same sprt of "classification code" system to let the readers know what to expect?

Some authors already do it, but it'd be nice for some consistency
