    Ignore Poster

I have been a non-BDSM related forum before, and they had a neat little "ignore poster" option, which I feel could be useful on this site. Sometimes I read in the Religion section of the forum only to find someone stating the number of his/her cats. While I'm sure they're wonderful felines, I really don't care. These similar useless postings seem to originate from the same people.

How it worked on the other site is you click on the person's name (like going to his/her profile) and then click "ignore user." The forum will state that person posted, but it is blocked and you don't read the contents of it.

Overall, I feel an implementation like this will help reduce flaming in the forums.

    Did you mean ignore user?
ie. do not allow him/her to post on your profile
or ignore all posts by him in forums too?

in the first case, its just like blocking.
the second case, you will not see any posts, including those in forums.

Maxx I believe that's the idea.
The second option, to NOT FIND the posts from certain members could result in a decrease in flaming.

VA, if I understand your question right, that you want to ignore certain posters. That option is already on this site. If you want to put someone on ignore, go into your private messages, scroll down, choose "Edit ignore list", and then enter whoever the person's name is that you want to ignore. Not only will that person not be able to send you a private message, but you also won't see their posts if you're surfing the forum.

I hope I'm understanding his question right, but this is how I do it, anyway.
